FSN Northwest to televise Cougar-Vandal game live Sept. 1

Aug. 26, 2005

PULLMAN, Wash. -- - Washington State University and Fox Sports Net Northwest announced today an agreement has been reached to televise WSU's season-opening football game with Idaho Sept. 1. The announcement was made jointly by WSU Director of Athletics Jim Sterk and Mark Shuken, vice president and general manager of FSN Northwest.

FSN television coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with FSN Live, while game time has been set for 7 p.m.

"It is important for both teams to have this game shown throughout the Northwest," Sterk said. "We are supportive of FSN's efforts to televise the game live so our fan base who cannot be in Pullman will have the opportunity to watch the Cougars."

The broadcast team of Rich Cellini and former Cougar great Mark Rypien will call the action from Martin Stadium.

"College Football on FSN will now kick off with the Cougars September 1 and we're looking forward to WSU setting the tone for a season full on compelling match-ups on the network from that day forward," said Shuken.

Four other Cougar football games have already been selected for live national or regional television, including the first WSU road game at Nevada Sept. 9. ESPN has selected the Cougar-Wolf Pack game for a 7 p.m. showing nationally.

ABC has selected WSU's game at USC Oct. 29, while FSN has picked WSU's final two games of the regular season for live viewing. The WSU-Oregon game Nov. 12 in Pullman will kick off at 7:15 p.m. and the annual Apple Cup battle with Washington in Seattle Nov. 19 will be shown at 12:15 p.m.

Other Cougar games during the Pacific-10 Conference schedule may be selected by ABC, FSN or TBS. Those three networks will televise Pac-10 games each Saturday and may make their selections 12 or six days in advance of the respective game.

WSU's complete 2005 schedule includes:

Sept. 1 - Idaho at Pullman (7 p.m., FSN Nw)
Sept. 9 - Nevada at Reno (7 p.m., ESPN)
Sept. 17 - Grambling at Seattle (4 p.m., no TV)
Oct. 1 - Oregon State at Corvallis
Oct. 8 - Stanford at Pullman
Oct. 15 - UCLA at Pullman (Homecoming)
Oct. 22 - California at Berkeley
Oct. 29 - USC at Los Angeles (12:30 p.m., ABC)
Nov. 5 - Arizona State at Pullman
Nov. 12 - Oregon at Pullman (7:15 p.m., FSN)
Nov. 19 - Washington at Seattle (12:15 p.m., FSN)
Note: WSU home games with Stanford, UCLA and ASU, if not selected for live television, will kick off at 2 p.m. Game times of road games not selected for live television will be announced by the home team.

Apple Cup 2004
Mood:  a-ok
HI all

I have time for only a quick note - the Apple Cup game is on this Saturday (11/20) at 6:00 pm Houston time. The game is televised only regionally, so join us at the SRO in the Northwest Mall this Saturday. Help us outnumber the Husky alumni and be the most boisterous crowd this football season on this last game of 2004.

I have a number of half-time raffle items and door prizes, the fight song will be a playin' and the horn a blowin'

Go GOUGS!

USC Game
Howdy Cougar fans - (OK, maybe #61, but we Cougar fans are loyal dreamers!)

is hosting #1 USC this Saturday in a game televised on ABC. This is the first time a #1 has traveled to Pullman. While we looked AWFUL last weekend versus Oregon State (thank the powers that be that the game wasn't televised!), we could salvage a great deal of respect with a win this weekend. Pray for snow, lots and lots of snow.... It wouldn't hurt if the Reggie Bush and Matt Leinhart fell and sprained something getting off the bus J

Game time is 6:00 pm - we will meet at SRO in the Northwest mall. Be there to perhaps witness one of the mightiest upsets of the season!

Go COUGS!

WSU vs Stanford on Saturday
From Jeff (who recently had his baby, there is a rumor going around that the baby has been named Butch and bleeds Crimson, CONGRATULATIONS!).
--------------------------------------------------------
The Washington State Cougar football team will host the Stanford Cardinal Saturday in a 9:15 p.m. (Houston time) game from Martin Stadium. The Pacific-10 Conference contest will be televised live nationally by Fox Sports Net. Please join us at SRO in the Northwest Mall to watch the Cougs rebound from last week's debacle - Coach Doba always has the team out for blood following a loss, so lets hope for a big win!!!!

GO COUGS!!!!!

See you Sat night!

Helloooooooooooo WSU alumni in Houston!

After a thrilling victory over a highly touted rival (OK, against Idaho), the Cougs are finding confidence as they roll into the conference schedule in route to another 10 victory. The ground game came alive, hopefully for the remainder of the season.

Join us this Saturday, Sep 25 at 2:30 at SRO for the Arizona Wildcats game. The game is ABC regional, so you probably have to go to a place with a satellite dish anyway, what better place than with other Cougs cheering the team on to victory.

As usual, we will have a half-time raffle (hopefully, I will have a couple of new items as well). Come on out, wear your crimson and grey and cheer on the Cougs! Hopefully, the Wildcat fans will be there as well.

See ya Saturday!!!!

HOWDY COUGS!!!

College football season is again upon us! Washington State is televised several times in September and October providing a good number of games for alumni parties. I've provided the dates and times below. Additional games could be televised depending on how hot (or not) the Cougs are.

Our season opener is next Friday. We're meeting at the SRO in the Northwest Mall. See our website for directions (www.geocities.com/wsucougshouston/ or the or the sro website www.srosportsbar.com .

I have collected a number of COUGAR items for this year's football season. We will combine free door prizes with WSU donations - so you have plenty of changes to take home some Cougar gear!!!!!!

C'mon out and join the Cougar crowd at SRO. Once again, we'll have the fight song (hopefully playing over and over with a rash of Cougar scoring). It should be a great time. Break out your Crimson and Grey!!!!!!
